She's smiling at us!

So I believe it was December 22nd and I was playing peekaboo with an awake Zoey and she smiled right at me! She's done that before but always fell asleep right after so it was more of a sleep smile. But now she smiles in response to us. It's so darn adorable and makes her so much fun. Today we finally got a good picture of her smiling at Gram. I was going to take a picture the other day, but Gram had the camera. So this picture is Christmas Eve :)

Latest Pictures

She's getting so much bigger! It's amazing how fast she grows. Her little noggin is so big now! She's getting too long for her newborn clothes. She has her two month check up on Jan 3 so I'm excited to see how much she has grown.

Candy Cane Zoey

Zoey was wearing what we call her candy cane outfit the other day. And our tree was all up and decorated (minus the star which we don't have yet). So I thought I should do a photo shoot with her. I got out my green moby wrap to use as a drop cloth. And put the boppy down for her to lay on. So part one of the shoot was her awake. But it turned out she was kind of grumpy. So it didn't last long. Here are those pictures.
She looks happy enough in this one.

Still happy

One of my favorite pictures. I love that I captured it. She's gonna hate me for this one later on in life :)

And she's grumpy. But look at those elf ears!

In this one I feel she's saying, "But mom I don't want to pose for pictures anymore"

Tried to put her in her monkey seat to calm her down... didn't work

Then later she was sleeping when she was supposed to be awake, so I decided to try part two of the photo shoot and wake her up with the flash. The pictures were pretty good, but it didn't wake her up. She's just so adorable :)
So Peaceful

That bow actually isn't on her shoulder, it's on a present you can't see.

Almost looks like she has teeth. She doesn't.

She was trying to kung fu the camera and flash away

I like this one with more of the tree.

Oh Christmas Tree

Here is our beautiful Christmas tree. I though it looks better that most of the scrawny trees you find in Utah. We even have some ornaments on it. Gram found a nice BYU one and she also bought us the letters so we could spell out Budge on the tree. i think that's fun. We also decided to decorate with a LOT of candy canes. I think we bought 5-6 boxes.

Gram and Papa's birthdays

So we didn't do as much for Gram and Papa's birthdays as we should have. It's so hard to be organized with a baby! Papa's birthday was on Thanksgiving and Grams was two days after. We celebrated on the day in the middle. We did make a cake. Or maybe Gram made the cake. I don't know. But John decorated it. Gram was still getting over being sick so she didn't want to blow out the candles and get germs on it. So they improvised.
It says 67 on the left for Papa and 61 on the right for Gram.

This is how they "blew" out their candles.

So precious!

Clothing the baby

Sometimes Zoey has interesting outfits. We only have like 2 pairs of pants to go with all her shirts. And we use whatever socks we find even when they're too big for her. Here are some pictures.
Her thigh high socks. Who needs pants?

John thought he'd be funny and keep her hands warm by pulling her pants up.

He's very proud of himself for dressing Zoey.

Aww

Zoey and Mommy

I had some problems with the rechargeable batteries in my camera so I had to get some new ones. But I haven't been able to take pictures like I wanted to. But now it should be better.

So I finally got a picture of my little baby and me together! We're so cute :)

I don't know what to call this one... More Stuff :)

I'm "trying" to update this more regularly. But yeah it doesn't always happen. I haven't uploaded any new pictures yet so I can't post more at the moment. But life with Zoey is going very well. She really is a good baby. Last night she went 4 1/2 hours between feedings once which actually gave me 3 1/2-4 hours of consecutive sleep! That sure was nice. Sometimes when she's sleeping she'll smile. Sometimes it's a half smile and sometimes it's a big full smile. And she even will laugh/giggle/chuckle. It's very cute. I have no idea what she's dreaming about though. Is she dreaming about eating and it's really funny? Or maybe about pooping? Or maybe she's remembering things before she came to us. I'll bet she had some fun times with her siblings.

So in the last week or two we've gotten a bunch of snow. John keeps wanting to go sledding but it's hard to find the time/energy. Also we don't have a sled. And of course Walmart was out right after all the snow came. But we do have a cardboard box that Zoey's bouncy seat came in that is slick so he's going to try that out sometime. I'll take a picture when he does. Oh, so I've had my digital camera for about 5 years and at around that time I bought my rechargeable batteries which have been great for it. Well now they don't seem to hold a charge. They'll last like a day or two and then I have to change them. So I really need to get more because I want to take pictures of my cute baby! And videos! And if I ever try to take a video, it's a sure thing that the batteries are dead. Because it takes more batteries to take video's I guess. I would wait until Christmas and have husband get me the batteries, but that's too long without pictures, so I think I'll have to get some before that.

We're getting a real live (sorta) Christmas tree this year! I'm so excited. I love real trees but haven't had one for awhile because they're so expensive. But this year I happened to look at groupon.com one day and they had a deal for this prepaid Christmas tree place. It was a $35 coupon and you got a 6-7 foot noble fir that was worth like $75. Plus this place gets the trees from Oregon, and delivers them right to your door within 2 days of being cut. So we don't even have to go pick up the tree. How great is that? It's going to come this weekend. But we still have to buy a stand for it. Along with lights and ornaments and all of that. We only have like maybe 5 ornaments.
